Ann Larsen is a plein air painter from New York's Adirondack Mountains. She paints from Maine to California as well as throughout the west. Her love of landscape draws her time and again to paint outdoors. Spending many hours in the field prepares Ann for working larger paintings in the studio from field studies and other references. She feels the landscape process is more about what you don't say then what you do say. Using lively brushstrokes and textural paint Ann interprets what nature provides.
Ann has won numerous awards and been in several solo and two person shows. Most recently she was awarded Second Place in Finger Lakes Plein Air, Canandaigua, NY, Second Place in the Masters Division at the Central Adirondack Art Show, Old Forge, NY and Honorable Mention, Oil Painters of America Spring Online Showcase. Ann has been an invited artist at the Grand Canyon Plein Air on the Rim, Sedona Plein Air Festival and the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters National Paintout and Exhibition. She is a Master Signature Member of American Women Artists, as well as President; Signature Member of Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters; a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and Outdoor Painters Society.
